I’ve played a few games like this, but not many have tapped into the potential of close range attacks. The closest I’ve seen was a dinosaur themed app, but even that was just a mimicry. The simplest collision is a head on tackle using dash. I imagine that it can roughly be implemented by: Collide = false If in contact and collide is false Calculate damage with something like mass times acceleration Calculate recoil damage Set collide to true
If a horizontal tackle can be implemented, then vertical ones can be put into the game too. Just imagine a heavy bot falling from a tall building and crushing another bot.
